Lyells attempt, September 2009
Bill Corbett claims an 8-10 hour approach to Lyell Meadows. This is a bloody lie. We arrive at the Meadows on the evening of the 2nd day of hiking. By the time we get to high camp, it's time to leave.
Pavel Gorelik, Aaron Yahr, and Patrick Lam carry ropes around the Rockies. (Some photos due to Pavel Gorelik, namely the 1600x1200 ones.)

Album: To Lyell Meadows, September 4
"8-10 hours" my ass. Routefinding was an issue: we wandered in mushy marsh and bitchy bushwhack for a long time.

Album: Up to high camp, September 5
We finally hit the glacier late on the third day and practice some crevasse avoidance. Ropes not completely useless. Today's highlight: scary scree!

Album: Back to the car, September 7
The retreat was a lot easier than the approach, since we managed to mostly stay on trail. It actually did take about 10 hours.
