Thoughts and travels of Patrick Lam

October: world tour continues with Flagstaff, Waterloo/Toronto, Pasadena, and Winnipeg

As I write this I am 2 hours into my first flight from Winnipeg back to Aotearoa via Vancouver and Sydney. That is 3 + 16 + 3 hours, with 9, er, 8 hours in Sydney. This is towards the end of my month of travel: 5 weeks, 3 tournaments (consecutive weekends), 2 conferences (2 days at each), 1 judo course (6 days). Now I have my last two months in Aotearoa before teaching starts in Winter term, which I can devote mostly to research, with just a bit more teaching prep.

October: photos post

Didn’t process nearly as many photos as in previous months, but got a few more sets in near the end of the month after travel was done.

September: final versions of papers, course prep, Auckland, and Japan

Mostly in Wellington except for a weekend in Auckland and a week in Tokyo (the start of a busy travel month). Finalizing papers, reviewing course notes.

September: photos post

About the same number of photos processed in September as in August, but that includes a doozy of a set from the Petrel Station.

August: Camera-ready month, and some weekend trips

Routine month with work finalizing accepted papers and trips to Rotorua and the Catlins, as well as helping with a Snowcraft course at Whakapapa.
